Most OEM coil suspensions have a difficult time supporting heavy front loads like winches, brush guards and snowplows. If your coil springs are totally squished under a load, the lack of shock absorption can be harsh on your backside, especially if you spend long hours sitting in your vehicle while clearing snow. Insert these helper springs in between the individual coil loops in your front coil springs to help defeat driver fatigue and to better support heavy front loads.

Coil SumoSpring installed between rungs of coil spring

Each doughnut-shaped spring has H-shaped channels at the top and bottom that fit to a rung of each coil in your front coil springs. Inside each round spring, a core of microcellular polyurethane foam adds cushioning between your coils. The cushioning absorbs shock, but also works progressively to better support front loads, and it keeps the front end more level. Unbumpify your ride with these SumoSprings for coil suspensions.

  • Will A Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar Help With Stability While Towing with A 2022 Ford Expedition XL
Hey Michael, Adding to or enhancing your suspension would help with body roll and side-to-side movement. When it comes to anti-sway bars you'll want to go with whichever is the thickest. The Hellwig # HE74GR is 7/8" thick so you can measure your factory bar and see if it's thicker. You could also install some Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1168R in the rear and front # CSS-1168F to stiffen up the suspension and also help with load leveling support.

  • What Is The Difference Between The Coil SumoSprings CSS-1094F And CSS-1168F?
Though both the Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1094F and # CSS-1168F are listed as fitting your 2021 Ford Expedition, there is a difference between the two. That being the height of the spring. # CSS-1094F - 2.25" tall # CSS-1168F - 3" tall The # CSS-1168F will fit both 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive models, but the # CSS-1094F will fit only the 4 wheel drive models. You will need to measure the gap between coils on your springs to make sure which would be the better option for you.

  • Are Coil SumoSprings Easy to Remove and Install on a 2025 Subaru Outback?
They sure are Charlie and welcome back! The biggest inconvenience you're going to run into removing and reinstalling the Coil SumoSprings item # CSS-1125R are jacking up the rear end of your Subaru each time and removing the rear wheels. You will need to get the weight off of the rear suspension so your Outback's coil springs can stretch out. You'll definitely need to remove the tires to get them installed. If you've got skinny arms you may get lucky and not have to take the tires off...

  • Coil SumoSprings for 2024 Ford Expedition Platinum
Hey Stefan! The Coil SumoSprings are all the same so there won't be a difference in support between part numbers. Is there a particular reason you want to install these? If it is for something like towing I would stick with the rear since that is where the weight will be. If you're frequently loading up the vehicle then front and rear is probably best. The same part numbers fit both the 2WD and 4WD models of the 2024 Expedition. For the rear you need # CSS-1168R and for the front # CSS-1168F....

  • Recommended Coil SumoSprings for a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500
Hey Jim. The correct Coil SumoSprings for your 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 is item # CSS-1168F. These come as a pair and will work in both your front and rear coil springs. The item # CSS-1069 you were looking at fit F-250's and F-350's. What issues are you having with your suspension that has you looking at the coil SumoSprings? If you could give me some additional information I can make sure the item # CSS-1168F is going to be the best way to address them. You can add this information,...

  • Best Suspension Enhancement Kit for 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevate
The X31 or Elevation package does not give your 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 a lift kit like the AT4 kit does so the suspension enhancement solutions do not require an additional spacer or anything in case that is why you mentioned that. But that said the best solution is the RoadActive Suspension system part # RAS54FR as it provides the best suspension support that is easily adjustable, is easy to install, and unlike other models does not negatively affect the ride quality of the truck. It actually...

  • Front-Mounted Trailer Hitch Options For A 2006 Ram 1500
Hi Brad, Yes, the Draw-Tite # 65033 sits much lower to clear the air dam, while the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31320 sits higher, requiring you to trim the air dam. These both have a 5,000lb capacity so you should definitely make sure your trailer is under that. If it isn't then you should go with an adjustable-fit weld-on hitch instead to ensure you have the capacity to handle the trailer. You can measure the frame width and measure down to where you have space for the...

  • Determining Which Coil SumoSprings For Rear Of 2016 Toyota Highlander FWD
I have a different option for you, but while you are correct that the # CSS-1168F is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Toyota Highlander Front Wheel Drive it is designed for the front suspension and would not help while towing a travel trailer. While there is not a confirmed suspension enhancement option for the rear of your Highlander, if you can measure the distance between the coil springs on the rear of your vehicle I would be happy to see if there is a option that will fit. You will want...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2025 Kia Telluride Towing Keystone Coleman 13B
Hey Amanda, we can definitely help! I would recommend the SumoSprings kit part # CSS-1168F for your 2025 Kia Telluride to get rid of the sag when you are towing. This requires zero maintenance unlike the air bag kit part # AL29PD that fits your vehicle while also providing great support and an easier install. How much sag are you getting now do you think?

  • Solution for Rear Sag on 2022 GMC Yukon Towing 6,000 lb Travel Trailer
Hi Jason; it looks like your 2022 Yukon towing capacity is 7,500-7,900 lbs so I'm not surprised you're getting that rear sag. The best solution is going to be a weight distribution hitch. This will keep you level and also help reduce trailer sway for a much improved towing experience. I see you looked at some suspension enhancement but your only option is the # CSS-1168F which fits a 2WD and is only for the front axle which doesn't help anything. • Front Suspension Enhancement for a 2025 Jeep Wrangler
Hey, Steven! The Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs part # AL60829 will fit your 2025 Jeep Wrangler, but only for the rear. The best option for the front axle of your Jeep would be SumoSprings Solo part # SSF-402-54 or the Coil SumoSprings part # CSS-1168F. Both of these would have similar affects as the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs and would give you that support you are looking for. Are you planning to carry something on the front of your Jeep?

  • Sumo Springs Recommendation for 2018 Ford F-250 SuperDuty when Bumper Towing Reflection 312BHTS
When it comes to adding some extra support to improve your towing experience I love the SumoSprings because they're easy to install and they provide you with progressive load support that doesn't effect the unloaded ride quality on your vehicle. With that said, the TSS-107-40 (for trailers) and CSS-1168F (for coil springs) are not the parts you're looking for. Because of the 800-1200-lbs tongue weight of your trailer, I recommend using the SumoSprings # SSF-111-47 (front) and # SSR-127-47...

All 3 options are the same Coil SumoSprings: # CSS-1168 # CSS-1168R # CSS-1168F The difference in the part numbers just has to do with R is for rear, F is for front and then we have the regular number in case someone is looking for the part to fit a specific end of their vehicle.

  • Can Multiple Coil SumoSprings Be Used On a 2021 Ford Expedition
The Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension part # CSS-1168F which are a fit for a 2021 Ford Expedition will help the coil springs from compressing which will in turn prevent sag/squat. There will only be one spacer per side needed. It would not be advised to install more than one per side as they would likely not fit and the ride would be very harsh if done so.

To best level your 2016 Ford Expedition with your camper hooked up I recommend using a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET. This system will accommodate trailers with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs and a maximum trailer weight of 10,000lbs. You will also get the added benefit of sway control. This hitch offers no-drill installation unlike the other options from Curt, parts # C31069 and # C31012, but some plastic fascia trimming is often required to make room for the receiver tube. • Front Helper Springs for a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sahara with Sno-Way Snowplow
For your 2000 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) I recommend Timbren front helper springs # TJFTJ. These springs will provide better support than the Coil SumoSprings. Air bags could be used, the durability is not an issue, but for this application I find air bags to be unnecessary. They require maintenance, you have to add and remove the air compared to the Timbren springs that require nothing after the initial installation. Since the load of the plow is only at the front you would not need anything...

The Detail K2 Elite Snowplow for 2" Hitches # K2AVAL8422ELT doesn't require a leveling kit or list any specific heights that the front-mounted hitch needs to be at so you should be fine without one. That being said you are adding a considerable amount of tongue weight to the hitch so you could run into very little clearance between the ground and snow plow components.
